In the ninth rendition of the Converse x Golf Le Fleur collaboration, the new One Star Ox is an instant classic designed with a leather body that includes three separate tones of blue. Initially the barely blue can be found running from the toe cap through the eye stay up to the tongue - which features an embossed Golf Le Fleur logo - but can also be seen looping around onto the iconic flower embellishment on the side panel which contrasts to its background and is layered over a ‘Golf Le Fleur’ spellout. A slate coloured counter is in place at the heel contrasting with the barely blue coloured stitching.

The clean egret coloured midsole made from a layered rubber features additional attention around the toe which contributes to the overall durability of this style. The midsole includes a small Converse logo on the heel which completes the tonal essence of this colourway. Golf Le Fleur branding concludes on the rubber outsole with a monochrome pattern. This collaborative release comes inside a Converse x Golf Le Fleur black and pink box with the shoes securely stashed away in a branded burlap sack.

This new release shows Tyler The Creator’s growing confidence in experimenting with new materials for his designs that follow on from his previous collection, which was the first evidence of him straying away from the usual suede body found on a One Star OX, followed by a silver leather edition released in January. Giving us an insight into an interesting future for the up and coming Le Fleur collections which undoubtedly will further aim to reflect Tyler’s increasingly playful and unconventional design, this everyday staple gives us a piece of Tyler’s personal style and that of his branded ‘GOLFWANG’ character, which has progressively developed since he first rose to fame through rap collective Odd Future.
